Sew South Tampa is a sewing studio specializing in children's sewing classes, summer camps, and workshops for both adults and children. Our mission is to teach the art of sewing while incorporating timeless life lessons such as patience, perseverance, and the self-discovery of creativity.
In 2014, founder Lori Green conceived the idea of bringing the age-old art of sewing back to the Tampa Bay Area. With a small rented room and four sewing machines, she began teaching a small group of children how to sew simple articles of clothing and accessories. By the end of the year, she had grown to 30 students and with the help of her daughter Rachel, they hosted their inaugural student fashion show
With the success of our first fashion show and summer camp, we quickly became the place to be for all things fashion sewing.
The studio is now in its 7th year, continuing to teach young people how to sew using professional garment construction skills.
